Social media a platform that makes up the dream of global village come to reality. It is a medium of communication that makes socialization much more easy. Before a decade or so it was not very possible to reach out to people out of ones cultural radar but after the introduction of social media its now too easy for one to explore other cultures, country or languages. The geographical barriers are no more restriction to socialization . The idea of a global village is exactly what the social media have achieved today. Millions of people use different types of social media such as Facebook, Whatsapp Instagram, Snapchat etc. However the idea is to unite different culture together.
But in the recent years,it instead of only being a medium to communicate to different people across the globe have started influencing people in their personal life. Nowadays social media is not only a place to socialize but also a place to prove one's worth to society. People now turn to social media to show off more than to communicate that is entirely different than the ideal base of social media.
However it's influence on people life also bring out some positive aspects such as it have become a very powerful tool to show public union as well. People now protest and show their opinion on social media which spread awareness all across the globe. Whether it's a # trend or a message to the higher level of authority anyone can be a part of it even remaining anonymous.
As its said every super power comes with a curse. The power of social media also comes with curse. The curse of getting influenced by seeing what the other have in hand and not admiring of what one himself have.
Social media is the new world's non violent weapon that could help in making the world a better place but if one do not use with caution it could cause disaster as well.
Now when we know it makes a significant impact on people's life . It's must that we should take precautions while using social media.
With a view to the disruptions been caused due to bad influence of social media all over the globe, here rises a question, would you quit your social media accounts in order to stay out of the chaos?As nowadays social media is not just some mere platforms but also a need of the hour for everyone to explore, learn and implement great ways to be a part of global market. No one wants to stay behind in today's world where there is high competition. Various features on these sites helps people to communicate, share, enhance, inspire and embrace their talents and give them confidence which is why people love to be on social media than to be contacting in real.
Generally all of us knows we like to be served on the table than going to fetch it from the counter itself, social media is that same medium for us which provides us with all the ease when ever and wherever we ask. Initially, everything seems very good and heavenly but eventually being stuck on it becomes dangerous for us.Answering to my above question of quitting of my social media would a be, yes on my personal view. As I mentioned overuse of anything causes miscellaneous problems, such as, not being able to perform well in real time meetings with people, or may be having issues of depression when not able to beat with the competition all around social media. To maintain my mental peace and private life safe I will not think twice on giving up my social media accounts.
Now if you ask me what if something's change in social media will I use it then?
Yes for sure social media cause trouble if misused or used more than it should be but again some improvement from developer side would make social media a better tool to use such as keeping a check at rumors fake news controversial issues and other things that could cause disturbance in society. If social media spot all such errors and do not give any loop holes it could become a great tool .
