Covid-19 vs Students

A Pandemic covid-19  commonly known as corona virus hit the world to go into such a crisis which makes the life cycle of every individual stagnant. The normal lifestyle of every individual went from reality to virtuality. Since it had no vaccine the only way to stay safe was to take precautions. Just in the span of one month of lockdown every economy in the world started crashing. The lower/poor section of the society which earlier migrated from villages to cities in order to earn money started walking back to their villages with no money or food in hand, only in hope of having a shelter. The crisis equally hit all sectors of the economy however the most suffered were the lower and the middle class society. Well the basic problem for these lower class labourers is lack of proper economic structure or lets say money cause without money they can't have their basic needs i.e., food, clothes and shelter thus it is hard for them to survive in this pandemic situation.  Every individual, organisation or even government has put their best foot forward to support the lower middle class to survive this pandemic yet there is a lot to be done.
However this one more sector that had paid a huge cost in order to stay safe of this pandemic is the student sector or lets say education sector. Some of them were completing the board examinations some were completing semester examinations, some were completing their certification courses, some were preparing something and some of them were about to get graduated. Yet when the lock down went for a month and more. Students were taking online classes preparing themselves and doing all they could do for themselves. All they want is to stay safe.
Now some of the universities and colleges are planning to take examinations. For students' examination is nothing but a normal everyday choas. Every student has gone through more than hundreds of tests and examinations. They are not afraid of it but surely afraid of covid 19.
Here I state some of the issues which will come in the way of examinations to which probably no or very less university or college has a solution.
  •  Maintenance of social distancing

If schools ,universities and colleges will take written examinations they for sure will call students from across the globe to their centres. When a bunch of students will come to a place together, it's sure that the risk of covid-19 will increase. It will not be possible for the authorities to maintain social distancing in schools or colleges.
  • Travelling

Students come from various Landmark across the country. Some come from the  locality of the college and some from miles away of the college. Again the risk of one getting infected from covid-19 increases if people travel together. Also let's say if a student takes the risk of travelling to the college still the local transports are not available during the pandemic and not everyone is blessed with personal accommodation. Thus, some might be able to reach the college and rest struggle to even reach half the way to college.
  • Preparations

For the ones who were living in the locality of the college, have their books to study and prepare from but students who were living there in the hostel or alone in a flat who went back to their hometown during the pendemic to stay safe without books, merely have any source of preparation.
  • Risk

In order to give examination every student have to take high risk on their health to just write a sheet of paper. In my opinion, examination are not worth lying dead by creating the spread of the deadly virus covid-19. Because conducting examination involves not just one person but the whole University has to come together for making it happen. And as all of us are literate enough to understand what is right for our lives, it is not right to be conducting examinations at such time of the globe.

Now we have seen what all will be the consequences if examination is held during this pandemic. Let's see, what is the solution for this? I will not come to the ultimate decision thats not my job. I will just keep my perspective.
So students have to work hard to study and make their career forward. They deserve compensation for at least the pandemic. According to me, every student should be promoted to the next semester or quarter on the basis of their performance in the last semester or year. Yes this might be unfair for those who have worked harder this time than the last time yet this is the most efficient manner to counter the situation now. Promotion will not only counter the risk of examination but also save from the loss one student might have faced due to lockdown. The final decision I will leave to the honorable authorities and individual Universities and colleges but as a student let your thought reach to the authority through twitter and do let me know your thoughts on this topic in the comment section.

| Stay safe |
