Unity Is Strength
"Unity to be real must stand the severest strain without
breaking. "
- Mahatma Gandhi
"Unity is strength", this quote is
read by all of us once in a while when we were in school. But other than
syllabus we never thought it as a moral value that all humans should posses. Because
strength is all what every living being desires as it is the value of nature, '
The fittest will survive' hence strength is the only element that can make one
survive.
Now if it is all about strength then we all can posses a good
amount of strength, why then we need unity? This question might be one
very clearly flashing in your head. Let’s sort its solution first. An ant is
capable of lifting about 5000 times of its weight, but they usually die crushed
by some or the other things, they have tremendous metrics of strength but they
can't withstand any crush. And they usually get crushed because they are tiny
and don't get into notice. Thus strength alone can't help you survive, because
in the universe where diversity is infinite we humans are no more than ants.
Ants know what they are capable of and thus you will find ants living in colony
i.e. in groups, they live united as colony of ants are visible and they could
be avoided being crushed, Also they can lift objects that are beyond their
singular capacity. Now we know that advantage of being united.
But is it possible for people of different race culture unite as one and live
under one roof. Well the answer is no, it can't be possible, cause even the
best example of unity 'the ants' have different races, some are red ant colony
some small, some big and so on but if we look at them they all are ants of
different species some dark rover ants some field ants and so on, yet when it comes
to humans we all are some we do not have categories other than what we have
made for ourselves. And that is diversity, but we belong to a community that
says unity in diversity. Thus a complete unity is not a possibility in today's
society but yet a diversified unity is what a ideal society should look like.
Let's cut it short more to practicality. Take example of a family which have
chaos always within themselves, they fight for property, money or any of the
commodities they find interest in, if someone wants to break them it's very
easy for him/her cause he/she knows the other member of family won't come to
help one other or even none of them would ask for help to anyone of them. On
the other hand if a family is together and united no one dares to come cross
them because they know if one touches any member of family the rest stand
beside.
Let's talk about another example, we all have been to schools , it used to
happen that someday one or two of classmates have not brought the boom or have
not yet completed the homework, and they used to get punished. But on a
day when most of the class used to forget the book or the homework, their
used to be no punishment it's just the unity that makes one survive more than
the strength thus we say unity is strength .
Unity is not only a social parameter but in the society which too much depends
on economy, it had become a economical parameter too. People doing business can
relate more to it, we can find lots of businesses coming together to find a
large market. For example a firm that has a good experience and command
over biscuit manufacturing finds its transportation difficult it gets united to
a firm good in transportation and then earn easy. This tactic is known by
all but is actually inspired by human nature i.e. unity brings strength.
Freedom of Press: A pillar to democracy or mear Mirage? It's been more than 45 years since 1975 when our Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed ' the emergency.' Well, that's when my father was still a teenager. Yet from his point of view, the stories about the emergency are so fascinating. One of the trending tweets on Twitter during June are the statements, flashes, and stories that political leaders, ex-editors, and editors of several media houses, business owners, and even the common man are about the emergency. Mostly the tweets are about how bars were held over the freedom of the press. I hope all agree if I quote Press as the fourth pillar of a strong democratic and civilized society. Even the true identity of the press is to express unbiased and factual information in the interest of public welfare. But is the freedom of the press strongly implemented or it's merely a mirage! Is it free to act or a puppet of varied influences? During the e...
Seductive Communication : A must have skill Today corporate world demands several skills in its employees, one which is common in all sectors of employment is good communication skill. As many people think communication is basically the command of one's over a language and his vocabulary treasure, but the language is just the means of communication. In actual communication is the act of sharing or exchanging information ideas and feelings through several means. That could be verbal, non verval, written or spoken. Anything that exchanges a valid information is know as communication. It always happen between two or more than two people. Ok then communication is just a means of sharing, the more one shares the better he communicates. Is this what you think about communication skill, then definitely you are wrong. Cause communication is like a blade the more its sharp, the better it works. Now all of you might be thinking how to sharp my communicat...
"Protectionism in the era of Globalization" -S. Jaishankar From the age of Kings and Kingdoms, India is known for its global trade and its richness in globalization. But recently our External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar rebelled against globalization and global trade. Advocating trade protection and government assistance to domestic businesses and traders. According to him, the government should plug barriers in global trade. He quotes that in the name of openness we have allowed subsidies to/on products and other advantages to foreign enterprises and traders in justification for globalization. On remarking FTA, the minister said that the effect of past trade agreements has been to deindustrialize some sectors. ( Basically, the idea was to justify the government moving out of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.) On Nov. 15th, 15 nations signed the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership(RECP), the largest regional trading arrangement of the pacific-Asia...
